Mile 1,350.7 - 1,372.3

Just one mile from where we camped last night was a place called "Terminal Geyser". It was a few tenths of a mile off trail but well worth the effort. The geyser had steam shooting skyward and the smell of sulfur all around. The stream that came from the geyser was bubbling. We put our hands in the stream just to see how hot it was and we figure it was well over 100 degrees.
Farther down the trail we came across a hot spring pond where you were not allowed to get close. It's pretty neat that the trail goes by these hot springs.
Still early morning and just a few miles hiked we came to a place called "Drakesbad". It's a resort that has cabins, hot pools, hiking, and fishing for their guests. They have a huge dinner hall and they allow PCT hikers to buy meals. We happened to just catch the breakfast buffet. It was incredible. We ate as much as we could in the 15 minutes we had before it was shut down. We had no problem filling ourselves in that time. We sat with 2 other hikers, Acorn and Blanco. After breakfast we enjoyed a hot pool soak before heading back to the trail.
Today was a fairly easy 22 miles with only a few short climbs. The problem is that it's getting hot and dry again. Water is another issue. Tomorrow we have a 32 mile stretch without water. That's a lot of water to carry, but we have no choice. We will load up in the small town of Old Station tomorrow. We will see how it goes.

Drakesbad Resort just a half mile off the PCT. We hiked in for breakfast and the hot pools.

Y-Knot & Acorn at the hot pool. This pool is about 95 degrees. Not that refreshing but it felt very relaxing.

Balance cools off at lunch in the Lower Twin Lake.

Balance hiking towards a campsite, and more important, a water source.
