Sure enough, Nancy came to pick us up and brought us back to her home. Poundcake was already there as he made it the night before and was still there.
Out came the most amazing breakfast. A huge plate of fruit, unlimited pancakes the size of a dinner plate, bacon, eggs, juice, and coffee. They just kept cooking and we just keep eating. I can't believe how much one can eat. We were in heaven. After breakfast we all showered, and did laundry and lounged around talking with Nancy and her family members. Before long they started up the huge grill again but this time cooking burgers. I made the mistake of asking for a double not realizing that the patties are a half pound a piece. Somehow I managed to wolf it down but I was stuffed and found myself belly up on their deck. Wow, this was the best trail magic. Many thanks to Nancy and the Williams for their generosity. Absolutely amazing. Nancy took our photo and hung it on the 2014 hikers board for others to see. Nancy then gave us a ride back to the trail where we wobbled our way up Buck Mountain.
As we came out onto Buck Mountain Road, we came across Kermit and Jennie Bug. More trail magic. Iced tea, brownies, cookies, and powerbars. Wow, this is our lucky day. We met Kermit and Jennie Bug on day number two as they were doing trail magic near the start of the hike. Very nice folks.
Believe it or not but we did manage to hike about 15 miles even with all the magic. Thank you to all. What a day!
