Mile 1,294.7 - 1,319.0

This we have to finish the very long climb from Belden. We did a few miles of it last night, now we finish it. It wasn't as bad as I thought. Yes it was long but not steep. I waited at the summit for over an hour for Balance to arrive. We don't always hike together as we have different speeds. More so on the climbs but it all works out. Some couples we know hike together all day and that works for them. Everyone has to do their own hike. Like the saying goes, "Hike your own hike".
The only other hikers we saw today were Halftime and Staying Afloat. We played leap frog with them a few times.
Water was an issue today. In the morning there was plenty of water but by afternoon it got scarce and we had to carry a few liters. At the end of the day we had to hike .3 miles off trail down a very steep bank to get water for tonight and tomorrow morning.
Big day tomorrow we should cross the halfway point of the PCT. Wow, only halfway! Can't believe it, this trail is so long.

Another milestone, 1,300 miles hiked. That's a lot of footsteps.

This is called Cold Springs. Very cold and clear water coming from this pipe. It constantly flows into the horse trough. One of the better water sources in awhile.

The scenery is always changing. We are about to enter Lassen National Park.
