Mile 2,006.9 - 2,027.0

Trek, Balance, and I arranged a ride back to the trailhead this morning at 8:30am. Blanche, the trail angel from who picked us up at the trailhead yesterday, is going to bring us back as well. We did gave Blanche a small donation to cover the gas she is using to help hikers. She told us that she just loves doing it, and meeting new people from all over is a plus. Blanche is planning on southbounding the state of Oregon with a friend starting next week. Maybe we will see her on trail when we cross paths. Thank you so much Blanche.
The forecast for today is for cooler temperatures and thunderstorms late afternoon. We stated off today with a 5 mile climb up Three Finger Jack. Three Finger Jack was in and out of the clouds when we went by. Too bad because this is one of Oregon's highlights.
The temperature was great for hiking today. Maybe 70 degrees and overcast all day. At day's end we picked a grassy campsite and set up. Just as we finished setting up the tent, it started raining hard. Thunder and lightening came next as we dove into our shelter. The problem was that the grass and soil we set up on was not taking in any water. It was puddling and starting to flow towards the tent doors. With luck the rain stopped and we didn't go floating away. We hope the rains are done for the night.

Blanche and her dog. Blanche is the local trail angel in Sisters, Oregon. She is the one who picked us up and dropped us off at the trail. We are ever so grateful. They don't come any kinder than Blache.

A storm is brewing.

Our lunch spot next to Wasco Lake.

It's getting dark at Rockpile Lake. Bad weather is coming.

Y-Knot suited up for the storm. It was only a light rain during the afternoon and it opened up just after we set up camp. Our lucky day, we stayed dry.
