Mile 1,858.1 - 1,886.1

The weather gods blessed us with a near perfect hiking day today. It was sunny, around 80 degrees, and not as humid as it has been. This has been one of the few days of this trip with perfect weather. It's either been blazing hot or freezing cold. Not much in the middle, so today was just right. Not to mention, no mosquitoes either.
The one issue today was the lack of water sources. Just one creek all day. We hiked our longest day at 28 miles. We are getting so strong now. 25 miles is now our average and those have started to feel easy. I should mention that the terrain is easier now. Not as many big climbs and not as steep. Not to say that it's been pancake flat, because its not.
We did reach the highest point on the PCT for Oregon and Washington today, at just over 7,500'. It was a very non-descript pass with no real views. We are taking the alternate route for 20 miles to Shelter Cove where we have a food drop waiting for us. Shelter Cove is a small resort on Odell Lake, and they are hiker friendly. We can camp, shower, do laundry, and resupply. That all sounds good to us. Then we re-connect with the PCT heading north.

Thielsen Peak in the early morning light.

Y-Knot at the highest point on the PCT for both Oregon and Washington. Looks like Y-Knot better start eating more and hit the gym.

Balance at the Miller Lake trail junction during our lunch break. Balance has also lost weight but gained muscle, unlike me.

These are the signs we follow, and hikers add in the helpful directions with sharpies.

This was posted at the Windigo Pass trailhead. Thanks for the encouragement, whoever posted it.
