Mile 229.4 - 246.2

We had one of our best sleeps on the trail so far last night. We camped close to the water running. Most nights we wake up and toss and turn but not last night. We hiked today from 3,900 feet to over 9,000 feet. It got very windy and cool as we climbed. We came across a old cabin which many hikers have decided to camp in for the night, including ourselves. It's going to be a cold night.

Our climb this morning out of the river valley.

Balance early this morning.

Goldilocks and Balance getting water from a constant drip coming right from the earth.

Our 2 hour mid day rest spot. It has to have shade and water. Hikers two favorite things here in the desert.

Our cabin for the night. Not exactly the Ritz, but it will work on this cold and very windy night. We were the first ones here. Since then about 12 others have joined us. Hope it's a good night. This cabin has no windows and doors, and we are sleeping on a slab of concrete. Told you it wasn't the Ritz. How little does a hiker really need to be happy? Let you know tomorrow.
