Mile 2,420.7 - 2,443.7

We had a small problem last night: mice. To our disbelief, the mice stole Balance's hiking glove and a gaitor. The gaitor was outside the tent but the glove was inside. How did the mice get into the tent, you ask? Our tent zippers on both sides are broken. We have not been able to zip the doors to our tent for weeks now. We thought we would be ok now that we are out of mosquitoe season, but apparently the mice are active. We don't really like the thought of mice running all over our bodies while we sleep, never mind stealing our gear.
Today was a beautiful hiking day. The sun was out in an almost cloudless sky and the temperature was a cool 75 degrees. Two big climbs ruled the day, with snowy mountains all around us. We saw many thru-hikers today, including "Handbrakes", whom we haven't hiked with since Kennedy Meadows back at mile 700. Other hikers we saw were Slaughterhouse, Whistle, Buck Thirty, and Landslide, just to name a few. Everyone's name comes with a story of how they got it. Some are very interesting and funny.
To try to beat the mice tonight, we are camped atop a huge boulder. The idea is that mice have no business with a rock. Time will tell and everyday brings new adventures.

Delate waterfall. We camped very close to this waterfall last night and got a lot of condensation and mice attacks.

Park Basin Wilderness.

It was a long steep climb to ridge, but incredible views made it worthwhile.

Waptus Lake

Our guide book said the trail gets very scenic, and it does.

Let's see if any mice visit us tonight. This is a huge boulder which is covered in moss. One of our more unique sites.
