Mile 2,350.1 - 2,371.3

Quite possibly the worst day of our trip today. A steady cold rain most of the day made us miserable. Every piece of gear we have is soaked. Even our sleeping bags, which are double protected, got wet. Water has an amazing way of finding its way into things it shouldn't. We can only hope tomorrow will bring better weather, but that's not what we're hearing. At worst, we will have tomorrow night to camp, and then we should be in Snoqualamie Pass and get indoors to dry out.

A forest of bright green. Any place this green means lots of water. We got soaked most of the day after this photo.

This is a snowmobile cabin that is just off the PCT. We just took a break here. Three trail workers on horses were staying here for the night.

A cooler full of trail magic.

Balance in a mist. Heavy rains started later in the day and we got soaked.

For the first time, we never took off our rain gear for the whole day. It got real nasty out, cold and wet. One of our worst days on trail.

Don't be fooled by the photos. We can't take pictures in the pouring rain. So when it slowed down or stopped we would take a few. Just a messy day.

  1. We saw the clouds over the Cascades as we took off at 6 am, and figured you'd be meeting rain that day...good thing you had Snoqualmie to look forward to.
